WordPress Security Setup

Setup Package

One-Time Setup and ConfigurationStarting at $195

Securing your site is the most important preventative measure we can take to ensure your site and your visitors are safe from compromises such as malware, brute force attacks, data loss, sql and javascript injections, spam, email harvesting, and other common attacks that threaten the foundation of your business and your website’s security, as well as your visitors’ security.

A Website Security Check is performed to see how your site holds up against possible attacks. A thorough review of your site’s plugins, code, theme, and possibly a brief check on your hosting server (depending on who you’re hosting with) will provide insight into where improvements can be made to harden the site and prevent possible exploits.

WordPress Security Maintenance

Monthly Maintenance PackageStarting at $87/mo

Preventative measures are always the most economic (and stress-free) approach to maintaining a professional online presence. In the long run, securing your WordPress site is much less costly and stressful if it’s maintained.

If malware is detected on your website, Google will take it down and replace it with a red warning message, as will your hosting provider — and require you to clean up the hacked files before it can be restored. Once a site is hacked/breached, it’s like a magnet for attacks.

Initial WordPress Security Setup and Configuration is required*

On-going security maintenance on a monthly basis, or as-needed if there’s an issue that needs immediate attention such as a plugin security release or WordPress security release.

Includes (but not limited to, and may change over time):

  • Password updates
  • WordPress Core Updates (if your site isn’t getting much traffic yet, the core may not update automatically)
  • Plugin Updates and Security Checks (making sure they are not abandoned or insecure)
  • Uptime Monitoring
  • Automated Backups
  • Backup Storage (*additional fee)
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging as needed
  • Automated Monitoring Alerts: potential attacks, increased attacks, blocked login attempts, blocked IP addresses for breaking the rules, etc)
  • Website Recovery using the latest available backup
  • Emergency Email Support

Advanced Maintenance PackageStarting at $150/mo

In some cases, the above doesn’t quite cut it – especially if your site is larger than an average site, gets a lot of traffic, or has already been attacked in the past.

Includes all of the above plus:

  • Manual Database Backup*
  • Manual File Backup*
  • Replacement of outdated plugins if found insecure (if one is available; does not include cost of plugin license if needed)
  • Manual IP blocking (of IP addresses that were automatically blocked for breaking the rules)
  • Manual IP monitoring during security update tasks (in case an attack wasn’t automatically caught, such as a hacker searching for a vulnerability)
  • Scans to make sure nothing is sketchy on the server, such as malware, a file upload or other breach
  • Code added to prevent SQL injection & URL hacking
  • Security updates in WordPress configuration file

*one manual backup is done monthly and stored at one time, unless your site requires more manual backups (available upon request, or recommended depending on your site)

check server setup including PHP version, MySQL version, database checkup, available memory and storage, etc. – as well as what files are on your account that might be a security risk (such as test sites left behind, and other files that shouldn’t be there)

Plugin Audit –
to make sure your plugins are not outdated, abandoned by the developers, and will not put your site at risk

Plugins Installed and Configured For Ongoing Security –
free plugins (or paid versions of plugins upon request) depending on your needs, to prevent comment spam, login attempts, malicious file uploads, email harvesting, etc.

prevent SQL injection and URL hacking
disable XMLRPC
